Difference Between CUI and GUI

CUI-

• CUI stands for Character User Interface.

• The user has to type all the commands using the keyboard to interact with computer.

• It is difficult to use as the user has to remember all the commands.

• There is only text in case of CUI.

• Old model computers used CUI.

• Example like DOS.

GUI-

• GUI stands for Graphical User Interface.

• The user uses a mouse instead of the keyboard to interact with computer system

• It is very easy to use and navigate.

• There are graphics or visual clues for each separate application.

• Most modern computers uses GUI.

• Example like Windows.
